Going to Lombok you can expect to put your feet up and relax, enjoying only what is around. It’s peaceful jungle vibe is out of this world. Mostly surfers come here for a good time and enjoy the delicious food, amazing yoga and endless adventures.
The scenery will leave your mouth open just about everywhere you go. White sand beaches, turquoise water, huge rolling hills and fruit trees are what you can expect to be surrounded by. With countless waves around, spending time at the beach is a daily activity and yoga in the evening after the sun has gone down.
The simplicity in the village people is what keeps it this way. Farming, fishing, surfing, tending to their families. Ah, it is amazing. An experience you will not forget and one you will want to have again.
It is easy to get around from Kuta so you can easily explore. There is one street with western cafes that are incredible, my favorite is The Patio Lombok, with a French chef and the sweetest Indonesian staff it is a place you have to visit!
Xanadu is in a central location to walk to the main street and it’s no hassle for them to help organize transportation if you would like to go outside the small city. Besides the incredible design and layout of this retreat center, the staff makes you feel right at home. Always smiling and having fun they are easy to approach and love showing you what life in Lombok is about.
Honestly, the best place I have ever stayed. If you want to enjoy yourself and meet some cool people book your stay at Xanadu.

Kuta, Lombok is a perfect surf getaway offering waves for longboarding and shortboarding. There are many adventures awaiting and always waves to be caught. The best time of year to come is in rainy season between November and April, this means no wind and less people. May to October is “off season” but still provides opportunities for those who are ready to explore.
Every beach is stunning, surrounded by empty hills, farmland, and local villages. There is not much western development, and a lot less trash than the neighboring island, Bali, meaning clear blue waters and a sparkling reef below. It is paradise.
The coaches are fun and knowledgeable at Xanadu helping you progress in the water in whatever way you need. There are lots of options to pick when choosing waves depending on your level and a nice selection of boards on property making it very easy to be prepared. You go by car to the beach and will have epic boat rides out to the breaks, my favorite part! Review will be daily, after your sessions to make adjustments before heading back to the water the next day.
Selong Belanak: Beginner (sand bottom)
Beach break, close to the shore, good for people who are just learning or have never surfed before.
Tanjung Aan: Beginner- Intermediate (reef break)
A short boat ride out to a mellow wave, mostly a right but you can go left too. Extremely long your smile will be HUGE after.
Gerupuk: Beginner- Advanced (all reef breaks)
Boat ride into the middle of a beautiful bay offers spots for all levels
– Kids Point: Beginner- Intermediate
Mellow right that doesn’t break overhead. – Inside: Beginner- Intermediate
Long right and left.
– Don Don: Beginner- Intermediate
A steeper right, long and fast good to practice building your skills for intermediate level.
– Outside: Intermediate- Advanced
Long right with a huge wall good for turns, cutbacks and speed.
Seger: Intermediate- Advanced (reef break)
For those who are looking for a challenge and to get barreled, must have good control of your board and be confident in the water.
Are Guling: Intermediate- Advanced (reef break)
Fairly easy take off with a steep and fast wall in front of you and two sections to the wave making it a fun challenge.
Mawi– Intermediate- Advanced
Steep and fast with strong currents and big swells, a left hander barrel machine in one of the most beautiful and distant places ever.
The open spaced yoga setting upstairs is a dream. Lush green fruit trees on one side, a very simple and peaceful decoration, nice flooring and an impeccable view. It’s stunning! No day classes at Xanadu as it is too warm but the evenings here are magic. You must check it out!
There are also other locations with Ashtari yoga that can be booked through Xanadu for morning or midday classes. They offer Ashtanga, Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa Ashtanga, Yin & Yang, Restorative, and classes on request with highly trained teachers for all levels, it is a great addition to the property and your stay.
There are six rooms total, all decorated with great style. Four private deluxe rooms and two shared rooms offer options for people who are looking to cut costs and still enjoy a lovely stay at Xanadu.
Welcomed by huge windows you open the door and find big tile floors, wood furniture, unique paintings, white linens and high ceilings. It is stunning and so easy to settle in. The beds are like large clouds and the air conditioning works great. Hot showers are a plus too, something you do not normally find while traveling in Indo.
Fly to Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali first and hop on a 25 minute flight to Airport Praya in Lombok. Xanadu will arrange for a driver to pick you up, he will be waiting outside with a sign and a friendly smile. Only a 20 minute drive to the property after that.

“No words to define the excellent stay we had at Xanadu… Early morning surf with Ola (sweetest person on Earth and manager of the hotel, taking care 24/7 of every single detail) and Ozi (super cool surf instructor with experience all over the globe), home made breakfast (yes, home made, non process and you can even get recipes for the daily surprises coming out of that local kitchen 😉 😉 ), beautiful swimming pool, chill, nap, more surf, laid-back white sand beach afternoons and nailing the days with nights of fool moon yoga on the roof and priceless dinners&chats with friends/new people. Thank you Ola and full Xanadu team, it really felt like home.”

“I spent 7 nights at Xanadu surf & Yoga and the experience was beyond excellent. To begin with the location. Right in the center of Lombok close to the beach and the main road. The right walking distance for you to go for a nice afternoon/evening walk without the noise of staying at the main road. Rooms are also very nice and they have everything you need. I need to do a special mention to the beds and pillows. After a full day of surfing and Yoga, there is nothing nicer in this world than sleeping in a very comfortable bed. Last, the breakfast. While staying for 7 days I had the chance to try different breakfasts throughout my stay. All of them delicious. All of this can’t be done without the help of the super friendly staff that works at Xanadu and looks after you 24/7”

“I had one of the best trips of my life staying at Xanadu! As a keen surfer, I have stayed in various camps across the world but this was in a league of it’s own! From the incredible food to the beautifully styled rooms to the surf guiding from the legendary Ozi- nothing could’ve been better!
The location is prime; just off the main street with all the restaurants and bars, but in a quiet enough spot to allow you to relax. Ola and the team have worked so hard to create the beauty that is evident in every detail throughout the camp; and as a result the place has so much spirit and soul! Definitely not your average surf camp! I stayed for 2 weeks but could’ve stayed for months- I’ve already booked to go back in December! Couldn’t recommend Xanadu highly enough!!”
